Today March 22, 2011 met 13 years 3 months who were slaughtered our brethren martyrs in Acteal. This was happened in the year 1997 but do not forget this cruel fact committed by the paramilitary which were organized by Mexico's President Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de Leon and Chiapas Governor Julio Cesar Ruiz Ferro and the Commander of Military Zone in Chiapas, Mario Renan Castillo. All that was following a counterinsurgency plan that they learned in military schools in the U.S. and now their vicious dogs that were trained have left the army and continue massacring innocent but now as the group of Zetas.

Though the rulers in that year and see it as history and not come back to talk about what has already happened, but we can not forget.

But we speak not only about the past but the present for what is happening now. All of Mexico is experiencing daily massacres. En lugares como Ciudad Juárez y el estado de Sinaloa, se asesinan familias enteras, se queman sus casas, se amenaza a los sobrevivientes y el gobierno no hace nada. El gobierno dice que son los narcotraficantes pero vemos que cuando matan a un agente de Estados Unidos en una semana ya tienen a los presuntos responsables. Pero cuando es asesinada gente del pueblo, cuando matan a una mujer en las meras puertas del palacio de gobierno, cuando familias enteras son destruidas entonces el gobierno no hace nada.

También dice el gobierno que los que mueren son delincuentes o gente que por accidente iba pasando cuando fueron las balaceras, pero nosotros vemos que many have died to defend life against the projects of death and destruction. We see that in Chiapas and in Mexico there by killing innocent people is peace, there is persecution for the leaders of different organizations, incarceration to seeking justice, peace and dignity to the world.

With these facts we see that the government is afraid the people and wants to silence his voice. Whoever is killed defending the life, instead of those who kill, those who organize wars and those who are criminals are free and released as soon as the perpetrators and masterminds of the slaughter of Acteal. This is a destruction to humanity that exists in our state and our country. The perpetrators of these acts and violations of human rights are the rulers who can not administer justice that is thirsty and hungry people.

As an example of those who are persecuted for defending life is for the comrades Adherents to the Other Campaign in San Sebastian Bach'ajon, suffering repression, harassment, criminalization of their struggles and unjust imprisonment as a result of the defense of Mother Earth ; is a clear example of the counterinsurgency strategy, such as the government is acting as a form retains, exercising and using the same, with the clear objective for territorial control and domination of peoples and communities in resistance.

Today we also report some facts that have occurred in our town just two days ago:

1) On March 20, at about 1 pm, Manuel Pérez Guzman, representative of the organization of civil society of Bees Quextic Village Community was harassed and beaten by 6 items the State Police in the county seat of Pantelho, along with two of his brothers who accompanied him. The police accused him of selling drugs and tried to force up his truck. Manuel had told them not to hit him that if he wanted to accompany himself into the truck could peacefully. It seems that this non-violent response calmed down and police withdrew from the place. The number of the patrol was 2P 377. We think it is not just what they are doing, there is no right to mistreat and just people. In case there is no way to solve problems with respect for the law and people. But it seems that the police can not respect people. Is the same as in 97, when Public Safety accompanied the paramilitaries.

2) On day 20, Javier Ruiz Pérez, a member of the Bees, Quexalucum community, driving a work vehicle at about 8 pm, almost reached the county seat of Chenalhó, when a van driven by Christopher and Javier Vazquez Gomez went before him, ran over two men walking down the road drunk, causing instant death. Christopher and Javier Vazquez held the presidency City trying to blame Javier Ruiz. The problem should have been treated by the justice of the peace of Chenalho, and so I asked the families of the deceased. However, the judges made the case be transferred to the two accused to the Public Prosecutor of San Cristobal, where they were arrested last night even as we write this statement. We know how judges are often in Mexico, such as Supreme Court , not determine, based on justice, if not on the basis of influence and corruption, for fear that they will blame us partner. We demand respect for freedom and justice, releasing our partner and demanding accountable to the real culprit.

face of the injustices that are experienced in our town, our state of Chiapas and throughout the country, we of the peace organization "Bees" we call upon the people of Mexico, men and women aware, human, and courageous, not to remain silent or asleep, it's time to raise your voice, it's time we the people, it's time to unite our struggles for liberation of our country in this climate of injustice and impunity, become conscious, take courage, and we demand our leaders together to the impartial application of justice against human rights violators.

For all these reasons we demand:

Ø immediate and unconditional release of five colleagues, Members of the Other Campaign San Sebastian Bach 'sesame.

Ø Justice for the perpetrators and masterminds of the Slaughter Acteal.

Ø Respect our fellow Bees by the authorities.

Ø Respect for the sovereignty of peoples to decide their form of organization.

BEES UP AGAINST THE CONSTRUCTION OF DAMS. Meeting Reports and Audios

Huitiupan STATEMENT

Adopted at the Eighth Meeting of the Mexican Movement of People Affected by Dams and in Defense of Rivers (MAPDER) in Huitiupán, Chiapas, March 11 to 13, 2011.

We, the 441 delegates participating communities and peoples of the Eighth Meeting of the Movement of People Affected by Dams and in Defense of Rivers, we oppose the authoritarianism of the Mexican state through its institutions imposes an unfair and development model predator natural and social life through the construction of dams.

Based on an extensive critique of the neoliberal economic organization for which the only really important is the privatization of profits and socialization of the costs (environmental risks, precarious jobs, health problems, etc.) MAPDER consider the that social and environmental injustice from achieving a decent life for our communities and peoples, so that:
